BG`s Olde Time Deli in Cape Girardeau

We order lunch for our office from here regularly!! LOVE THEIR FOOD!!! Big portions and tastes great!

This use to be one of the best restaurants in Cape. Now the food is so expensive, the servings are small. Last time I ordered the orders were wrong. The servings for the price was stealing. Demanded money back. Terrible place, Gary & Chris Helewege would be so embarrassed. 😞😖

Nice, comfortable atmosphere. Food was delicious. I've never had anything bad here.

It has been a while since dining here. The last time we ate here, the server had BO. We arrived on a Saturday evening around 7:30. Ordered....1st they were out of the house dressing for their salad.....main reason we came for my wife. Then they brought our drinks....asked for straws.... they were out. WAL MART is open 24 hours! I heard it was under new ownership again..... I was hoping for a better experience.

Great atmosphere, staff very helpful and accommodating. Food prepared good. Will come back again.

Great staff, wonderful food

Overall the food is very good however if you accidentally leave your take-home container it gets thrown away and the waitress or waiter does not ask you if you want to keep it or take it home with you. If it was not for this I would’ve given a higher star review. In summary the food is good,The staff is mediocre and if I was the manager I would train my staff better and customer satisfaction!

BG's used to be my favorite place to eat. I used to eat there all the time when I lived in Cape. We were in Cape last week and I wanted to eat there so bad. I called at 8:00 PM exactly to place order for delivery to my hotel. They said they don't deliver after 8pm. Really? It was 8:00 when I called. So we decided to drive there and I ordered what used to be my favorite chili. It was awful. Too watery and lukewarm. The cheese wouldn't even melt. So disappointed. Guess we will no longer go back there.

Worst service tonight and extremely disappointed! Fries and onion rings were half raw. Food just wasn't good enough.

I had the soup and salad bar.the soup was chili (only) that smelled like can.and the salad was less than desirable. Service was good.but the food was not. Won't be going back.

I have been going here for a long time. the service/atomshere is awesome.. The food is great here also. If I ever had any issues the staff took care of me with no problems. The new ownership looks great. But I will be honest the menu is different than I expected. I really enjoyed my southwest burger now I have to build it. But overall it still 1 of my favorite places in the AREA..

The food has been excellent lately! Can't wait to see the new dining room when the remodel is finished!

Great skins appetizer. Took forever to get two salads and Reuben sandwich. Reuben was just ok. A little disappointed.

Food looks and tastes like it was made with pre packaged ingredients from the nearest grocery. Moisture drips off the sliced cheese despite it barely being melted. Sandwich tasted like something I could fry on the stove at home with a few refrigerated sandwich meats

Have loved BGs for 40 years, BUT the App was hard to do at Home; so I just waited until I got to BGs and had one of the guys help w it. Never had problems w other apps:-)

I've been eating there since the early 80's. Best potato skins on the planet. I highly recommend their French dip sandwich.

We always enjoy the Friday night all you can eat fish. Our service was excellent and the fish was wonderful. We will continue to come back.😄

Great place to hang out with friends or solo. Friendly staff and the food is awesome! Happy hr specials daily also rocks!

This place has the best potato skins I have ever had. And our server Ruby was just wonderful.

Been coming here since I was a kid. This is my last visit. Everything has gone downhill. Service and food was horrible. Hair in food. Out of things. Not a single refill in 45 min. Such a disappointment.

Always love the food and service is fantastic ! Catfish is amazing and everything else I have had so far.

The “BG’s Original Whole Battered Chicken Wings” is a meal that you don’t want to miss. Succulent chicken wings that will satisfy the largest of appetites and will tenderize your taste buds... especially with the in-house sweet yet spicy Louisiana-style hot sauce, you do not want overlook this. Being from Chicago where we have the finest restaurants, this is a HUGE win for Cape Girardeau. Problem is , not many know about this golden fantastic wings. It’s a legendary secret.

Thoroughly impressed! Under New Management and it shows. Wonderful lunch specials. Will definitely make another trip back.

New menu items are amazing. BG's has stepped it's game up as of 2020 with a new menu and remodel. Best Catfish Po-boy and Philly in the area!

Was happy they were open for dine-in. The service was excellent and the food was too. My only disappointment was the limited menu. Please bring back the fried cheese curds. May not come back until they are available.

The "Famous Potato Skins" were made of barely warm potato, cold processed cheese, and pre-made bacon bits. The Reuben was okay, but the layers of meat were super thick and uniform, kind of like they just pulled a hunk of slices out of a package. The fries were barely cooked... Firm and just barely warm.Server was polite and prompt at first, but never came by again after dropping of the food. Been done almost 5 minutes now with an empty drink and no check yet... They aren't busy...

Used to be my favorite place to get a French dip. I ordered one the last time I was in and it is basically a slightly warm slice of roast beef on a hot dog bun. Don’t know why they changed how they used to make it. This place has gone down hill.

The pork wrap is great. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing and a great way to enjoy a late lunch.

The Reuben sandwich and Gouda macaroni and cheese are a must try!! Delicious!!!

Service was the best...friendly, attentive waitress (thumbs up to Kalli). The potato skins were also top-notch - fresh and piled high with bacon and cheese. The fried food, unfortunately, was awful. Super greasy saturated and a bit burnt tasting. Maybe a new cook? Such excellent service, will try again another time.

I have eaten here for years and always been happy. But now the food quality has been on a gradual decline for months. Special requests are either done wrong or ignored, ingredients are being substituted with no notice, food comes out overcooked.

There terrible service on car go. Took 30 minutes after I ordered only to be called and say there out of the pig skins. So I said get original and it took 45 minutes for 6 potato skins. I will never order from them or eat there again because of this experience.
